You'll find the holiday experience you've dreamed of in lively and tropical Cairns, from sumptuous shopping and dining to outdoor adventures. And if you book a room at Tropic Towers, you'll have access to a plethora of things to see and do in Cairns.

Tropic Towers Cairns accommodation is approximately 2 kilometres north of the city centre. The vibrant Cairns Esplanade, marina, and lagoon are only a few streets away, while the majestic Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda Rainforest, Daintree Rainforest, and Cape Tribulation are all within easy driving distance.

But wait, there's more. There are various events to attend in Cairns this October.

Queensland Music Trails

Queensland Music Trails is a first-of-its-kind music tourism journey that allows everyone to enjoy Queensland's marvels through famous music events. This October, the trip will extend to the state's far north.

Shine On Gimuy
October 5 - 15
Shine On Gimuy is a significant new First Nations event organised by Indigenous Creative and Cultural Guides that will bring a beautiful art show to Cairns' waterfront from October 5 to 15. Shine On Gimuy will be a multi-arts event that will brighten the streets with light shows, soundscapes, art installations, scheduled speeches, and music performances encapsulating 60,000 years of history, science, tradition, and untold stories.

Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series

October 21
The Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series begins on October 21 if you are interested, registered, or know someone who will be competing. The Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swims are not your typical ocean or open water swims. People will be swimming over one of the world's seven natural wonders.

Sunlover, the largest and most dependable tour operator on the Barrier Reef, operates the Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim. The swim in 2023 will begin from the Sunlover pontoon on Moore Reef, 60 kilometres from Cairns. Buoys mark out a one-kilometre route and follow the Reef perimeters to offer the world's most stunning swim view! The magnificent Sunlover ferry departs from Cairns and transports swimmers to the Reefs. The voyage takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the route, and allows you a full day on the reef.

Aside from visiting the fantastic sites and attending events, why not take in a show at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre? The theatre hosts cutting-edge and debut performances and a carefully curated variety of classic and restored theatrical works.

Cairns Performing Arts Centre Shows

Radical Reels Tour 2023 will take place on October 5. This year's tour promises to make your heart race while sitting in the comfort and security of a theatre. Circa Cairns: Son, a cultural circus piece exploring the relationship between fathers and sons, will be performed on October 20 and 21.

Son wrestles with the importance of the father in moulding the son's identity and masculinity as it percolates through the classical tales of the Odyssey, Oedipus, and Pinocchio. In addition, following their Swan Lake performances in 2022, The Royal Czech Ballet will return to Australia on October 21 with a staging of the timeless masterwork Sleeping Beauty.
